Sam...I do know that the networking can be done between macs and PCs. It's not always easy, because of the underlying UNIX architecture. I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure you need Samba to connect to a Windows file server. Printing is not too hard, you would just connect to the IP address if it's a network printer.
