Swapped 6 extensions around today by just moving cross wires on the backboard. Somehow phones that used to ring on CO calls no longer have an audible ring but they will flash on a new call.
Also 2 phones that never rang on a CO call now ring?
Any ideas?

Looks like you swapped the ports instead of the cable side with the ports remaining constant.
Either change your ringing or put them back where they were and recross the ports to the new cable locations. The extensions are also off and cutomers internal directory is probably off.
Write the changes down so you can recover.
You didnt mention voicemail ,but that is also now screwed up to customers extension list.

Place is a mess, no cable records and nothing labeled anywhere.
Customer description of work.
Move ext 104 to where ext 107 is, move ext 107 to where 119 is.
What we did was:
Toned out all extensions to the jack side and the port side, labled them.
Then simply moved the cross connect from ext 107 to the jack where 104 was connected and so on.
The extension numbers are all correct on the subject phones which means the ports have to be correct? So I assume the port programming should have just followed to the jack that is now activted.

If you did as you say ,and they rang before ,they should ring now.
So go to program 81-87 and correct.
Did you actually witness the ringing or is it a customer qoute ?

If the ports were moved via "Auto Station Relocation" previously, the logical and physical port numbers no longer match. That means that extn. 107 may be on logical port 007 and physical port 015 (for example). This will be very, very hard to figure out.
IMHO that is the worst thing Toshiba ever gave the end user access to.!

We did not witness the ringing previous to the move so we will have to take there word for it and just change it the way they want it.
It's billable but just really strange if it really occured.
This new customer has been so mismanged by someone trying to provide himself with job security by not documenting anything or labeling anything.
Thanks for the input

If users didn't moved with the telephones together then you would have that b....t about "my phone was ringing b4" without realizing that ext.numbers has changed and they have to rerecord their MBx as well, but if you moved crossconect together with people should be no difference unless you assumed that ext.107, for example, is port 007. Then it might be a mess cause of phisical and logical ports differences. Check out Com. 001 & 002.

Checked using int#402 or something like that, don't don't have my notes in front of me. It showed ext. 107, phy 035 and log 035. Every extension I tried showed this type of response. Not one of the 10 or so I checked had what I believe to be "standard" for example ext. 107, phy 007, log 007.
They have 3 tenants running off this system, I went to the programming phone and tried to log in with xxxxxx and so on and it didn't respond. I assume that physical port 000 should always be able to program?
Any advice on finding a programming port on the backboard?

What is the best way to verify whatCO ports are assinged to a particular station/port?
Is it possible to add additional stations/ports programming rights? This 424 has 3 tenants on it and getting to the backboard and programming phone is depedant another busiess being open.
Thanks for everyones input.
