hello to you guys, after i installed the last stock items of officeserv system at home, including wifi and mobile. Today I became aware of something that I had never noticed before. All smt-i5243 have a continuous quiet noise in the speaker, I tested an SMT-i6010, everything is quiet there. Since the devices 5243 and 5230 support audio duplex, the question now is whether the noise comes from the additional audio duplex chipset. In the Rel. Notes of the SMT-i5230 I think something with in the speaker noise appeared.
Does anyone have experience of whether the SMT-i5343 also constantly noise in the speaker? Otherwise I would get one for the bedroom.

My first thought is force bumped the hold key and have no moh connected. Especially if the 6010 you tested was a different extension

The noise comes direct from the speaker not from the handset. The test with the smt-i6010 was with the same extension number on the same poe port.
I have 5 other smt-i5243, all have the same noise, on normal workday i think this is not a issue. its a litle bit special, that was placed a business phone in bedroom.
I will try later a smt-i5230

Hy, i have news, i think that is not a Software Issue. I downgrade in steps from latest 1.97 > 1.95 > 1.86 > 1.85 > 1.66 in all Versions its the same, the Phone Speaker have permanent noise (comparable with Hi-fi noise without signal) i mean this comes from the duplex audio chipset, i change the model to a newer Series

I agree with nameless. Try pressing hold with the receiver down and see if it goes away. If you have access to the DM you could look to see if that station is using an MGI channel when idle. That would point to the background music being active as well. -B

Sorry for my delayed answer. no that was the firsth what duble check too. The background musik feature its not the issue. The noice issue comes from the duplex amp, its a hardware bug.
The noise its Similar too a cheap old pc soundsystem, when no signal input was active, always noice was present.
i have replace with newer smt-i6011, its fine and mute.
I check in a similar enviroment by a good customer, its the same. I'm sure nobody hears it in everyday life.
