We set up a phantom device to transfer calls to an employees cell phone. When we dial that phantom device extension from an internal phone, it transfers fine.
When someone calls in externally we have the automated attendant pick up and prompt the caller to dial the partys extension. If the phantom device extension is dialed, the system says "The number entered is not valid"
Any ideas what the problem may be and how to correct.
Thanks in advance.

It needs an Extension ID to work from CO calls.

I am new and in need of a little bit more detail. Am I able to associate an extension ID with the phantom device to get this to work, or do I need to use a regular extension instead of a phantom device.
I am using DB Studio with Inter-Tel 5000. Can someone please help me with implementation or point me to where to find some useful information. The admin guide has been of littel help.

go to Voice Processor, Devices, then Extension IDs. Right mouse click to Add device.
