We installed a SBX system last week. The site had an existing Talkback page horn with a Valcom V-9941 control unit. We connected the controller/page horn to line port 6.
The issue is: If you press the line button first, then pick up the handset, everything works as it should (2-way audio) If you pick up the handset first, then press the line button, we get one-way audio. Nothing said through the phone by the person making the page can be heard. (However, you can hear what is said through the speaker. We also hooked up a buttset while making a page this way and there was no audio)
Has anyone else used a talkback page horn with the SBX?

Your situation sounds eerily familiar to THIS THREAD. Even though it is addressing this issue on the MBX, I'm thinking that it might be similar to what you're experiencing.
what happens, If You try pressing a Digit ( any digit) on the dial pad? Just wondering, IF that would open up the audio path? (like some ' other ' systems....
I had the same problem with a MBX and found the CO outgoing inter digit timer (pgm 174) could be set to the min time and it would fix the problem. However I can't seem to find a simular program field in the SBX.... let us know how you resolve this issue.
