I am working on a SBX IP 320 install. I have set up a virtual mailbox of 200 and set it for outbound notification. It was working great and I was doing some final testing. Now when I go to box 200 to leave a message, it puts the call on hold and announces it over the speakers of the phone and never gives me the option to leave a message. Any ideas of what I did wrong? I am using software version 3.5aq.

In customer call routing, program 228, I noticed an option for paging in the action field. Maybe that got changed somehow.

Call park and page was the issue. Program 129 flex button 24. This featue enables itself when you enable outbound notification. Now the problem I am having is the outbound notification works sometimes, and sometimes not. Also, cascading to another virtual box works sometimes and not sometimes. It just isnt consistent.

I am still selling the STSe, even though the prices have been inflated. I was considering biting the bullet and selling the SBX. It has been out well long enough to not have these basic problems. I have a great deal of concern selling these units with all the problems that seem to be happening with it. I won't say who my distributor is, but they tell me sales are 10-1 STSe over SBX. So this makes me wonder why they are trying so hard to do away with the STSe. If these simple issues can't be resolved then I have no reason to sell it. I'm sure version 4.0 will be just around the corner, and it will be the best yet!, but will 4.0 ai come out a couple months after that? I guess I need some reassurance from some of you guys who deal with the units on a regular basis before I change systems.

I've started selling the SBX. We only have five in the field. I agree with you about the problems. You would think they would have solved alot of these problems in Europe. That said, there are things I like about the SBX. The programming is not that bad after you get used to it. And if something doesn't work you can ususally just rock the power switch and it will take. Once we program and send to the field we haven't had any problems. Knock on wood. And it looks like if we sell for Vertical, we are going to have to migrate to the SBX.

We were considering selling the SBX, but the first one I was going to install was going to be in my office. I don't really have any issues with the phone system, but I do with the voice mail. The outbound notification is hit and miss, which is very important to me, since we are going to use that feature for our emergency after hours notification. Also, the cascading from one virtual mailbox to another is also hit and miss. I actually believe it is related to outbound notification as they both seem to stop working at the same time. I think I am going to stick with the DX-120 for a little while longer.

You know, I had a problem with an SBX install where we were using DECT cordless phones and dialing 9 for outgoing calls. When you press 9 to dial out the cordless phone would sometimes dial 9 twice and then obviously dial the wrong number. We had four DECT phones and they all did the same thing. I wonder if this is related. Vertical acknowledged the problem and is trying to fix it. Maybe if you let them know about your situation it would help.
