Just wondering what the common problem would be if I had a high number of phones go off-hook after connected? Some only stay on-line for a few minutes while others last 15-30 minutes before going off-hook. Connected known working phone to port and no problem. So port is good, just a phone issue.
Any help would be appreciated. 550.4400 and 550.4500 phones being used.

There was a bad batch of phones that were manufactered that had the "off hook" problem. Looks like you got a bunch.

So what is the fix for it? Is that related to the bad led eyes on the hook switch? Do they just need to be re-aligned or replaced?

I have seen a lot of these. I push the LEDs as close as possible (with out interfering with the mechanics) and make sure they are lined up. This has fixed most of the phones.
If you're having trouble with a particular station - I've seen bad ports do this as well (on perfectly good phones.)
