I am working on a project in which I am going to take one site that was connected to another IDS via PTP T1 and using CVM. We have a refurbed EVX voice mail card that we want to use for voice mail once we disconnect. My 432 cabinet is pretty full but once I remove T1 card I will have card slot for VMS. While this sounds like it should be doable does anyone have info/tips to avoid disaster? Secondly can I just remove my T1 card and insert EVX and then work on programming or do i need to reset system? Thank you in advance for your support.

Do you know what CPU you have?
I'm pretty sure the EVX card only worked on the ACPU that would be a 648 cpu.
Before you unplug the T-1 card, go into the ' F ' screen and clear out everything that was associated with the T-1 card.
You will probably have to do a bunch of reprogramming as well, line access etc.

Thank you for the reply. Both sides are running Eclipse 2.5.1 software and both have full 432 cabinets with the 540 upgrade. The EVX came out of another Eclipse user which is why we are thinking of implementing. We are running out of available numbers between extensions and DIDs plus bad service from PTP carrier. Do you happen to have any thoughts on cleaning out all the existing programming on EVX? Is there a way I can clean it all out and start over? Also by clearing out on F screen you mean the ports? How would I take the actual card out before removing it? Thank you for your help.

Just clear the ports. pull the card out, and you should see the "identifer' on the left side go blank.
Then stick the EVX in.
Don't really know of a way to clear out the EVX except go thru the Manager box and delete mailbox's.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..
