I will pay for remote assistance / programming / hardware / configuration.

Looking for alarm that will do the following.

Network connectivity that can send sms/text messages/email to specified number or address.

There will be no central monitoring; I would like the alarm to dial out to specified cell number(s) with the ability to listen remotely and/or being able to call-in and do the same.

Dial tone will be provided by cell phone with adapter to interface alarm panel (if possible).

Need about 4 door sensors
Possibly motion, however there are pets roaming about.

Can hard-wire, but wireless may be okay.

Will install myself.

Looking for member who’s been around for sometime to assist. As noted above, will pay for your time.

I’ve already spoken with a few of the alarm companies around town; essentially they won’t sell the hardware without the monthly service.

Please PM me if interested.

Just a question...

I can understand why you may want to do self-monitoring, and listen-in, but why do you want to put it on the computer network?

Learning as fast as I can.

If you use an Ademco Vista-15p you can put on a voice dialer. This module will call per say, your sell phone instead of a central station, and say whatever you have recorded it to. So your cellphone rings and says "Alarm is going off, call the cops"

As for the cell backup. Thats will come with a monthy fee. If you are going to pay for monthly cell backup you might as well pay the few $$ more and have a central station monitor it. That will also allow you to benefit from a dealers "free" system.

What city do you live in? I do alot of work in AZ, kingman, Pheonix, Bullhead, tucson.

Because i would like text/sms/email alerts for any activity. Is this something that is not available with alarm panels?

Actually, I can take any cell phone and setup as pre-paid; purchase 100min for $20 and let it sit there all year if need be.

Rusty, Napco has a "Net-Link internet reporting modual" NLMOD that will interface with even their small 8 zone P816 panel.

GE also has the NX590E that will work with all their Networx panels like the NX-8
The GE can send events to Two email address'
All of this is available at ADI or SES.

ADI has branches in Phoenix, North Phoenix and Tucson

You can also consider using a DVR with a few cameras, you could set each camera up almost like a motion detector and specify the grid you want it to cover. This way when motion is detected you not only get an e-mail but an image of the intrusion. Many DVR's will have a set of relays you can then use to also trip an auto dialer to call you. You can also use a combination of a security panel and DVR. When the security systems is tripped the DVR will record all cameras and send the e-mail. We have done something smiler to this in the past using these
