What do I know? Anyway I would go through the shut down process for the vm, restart it, and see if it works after that. Also try deleting a mailbox, creating it again and see if that extension's light lights up. Sometimes they like that.

2 things to try

Press F3 to do a clean-up , this should turn lites off or turn them on, If they should be off or on.

Also, like City42 said, Make sure the box is empty of all new messges, and then leave a new message, it should then lite

What are you running on the ' run dialog ' screen(the Main screen)?

Also, when You started the new voicemail up, did it give You an option as to what to run?

City 42, I've tried your suggestion prior to posting with no luck.

Nonameyet, tried the clean up with no luck. As for the main screen do you mean of the VMX or the IDS 228 would you like to know what software version the IDS is running or the VMX? Thanks for all the help I appreciate it.

I mean't what is the voicemail running?

the new card use's 'Backplane ' intergration(RS232) to talk to the phone system. There should be something like 232 on the ports(main menu)of the voicemail screen(It's been so long ago, I really can't remember)But, If it was in front of me, I know it would all come back!

The vx2 could be set up to to either "inband " or RS232 intergration. Did the VX2 have a cable hooked to either Port 1 or 2 on the IDS?

If it did, then the vx2 was running rs232 intergration(much quicker than Inband) BUT, if wasn't running rs232, and You set the new voicemail up the same, then, I can see why Your having problems.

Both systems run on rs232 intergration via the backplane yes. I have been on the phone with company that actually referbished the card. They are at a loss as well. I think it's likely the card is defective. We had to reload the btrieve database in order to get it up and running in the first place.

In the EVX "M" screen do you have "Integration Type" set to "C" and MWI Sequences all set to "/SMDI" ? It seems that if other functions work, then it is a configuration issue. I doubt that it is a hardware trouble.

I have /smdi in all 3 sequences 2nd sequence was blank didn't help. At G screen M prefix and transfer have been blanked as per research and technical support advice. Under Online programming in VX control screen M for intergration transfer sequence does have # key indicated. If I blank-out the System just rings and rings with no pick-up. Replaced # and rings extension for then to VM. Still no luck with MWI indicator.
