When I try to register the handset to the base station I get "error code 6". Does anyone know what this means and what causes it? I am stumped. This is on an Iwatsu ECS 3.0.

Your best bet is to start from scratch. Make sure there is no info in system programming, other than extension number, for the logical port you are trying to register to. This info is populated as the phone registers. This is especially important if you're replacing a handset- all old unit info must be gone.
Just make sure you're following tech manual directions EXACTLY while you're doing the install, such as being in the same repeater footprint the attendant phone is in (learned this the hard way). One little goof can elevate your blood pressure very quickly...
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.
