I have an S-Class system with 3 lines. Caller ID is not working on lines 1 and 2. On line 3 there is a hum on the line and the caller id is working. I have cleared up the hum on the line and know caller id is not working on line 3. The caller id is enabled by the carrier on all lines. I can take a single line caller id unit and verify that it is working before it gets to the system. One odd thing is on lines 1 and 2 the line keys flash 2 times(2 rings on my buttset) and on the third ring it finally rings the system. One line 3 before I fixed the hum issue it would ring immediately and of course caller id worked. I am thinking on lines 1 and 2 that the caller id has already passed and the system is not seeing it. I have adjusted the caller id gain from one end of the spectrum to the other. Ring voltage is 48. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

when you monitor the lines ringing in, do you hear 2 short rings, then the caller id burst, then 2 rings again? You might have distinctive ringing, which won't work with ESI

Our company is the carrier. We have a softswitch (MetaSwitch) they use the Bellcore standart of 55 milliseconds. The transport is Calix. There is no distictive ring on any of the lines. We test it in the lab and it works 1 out of every 30 times. We have cntacted tech support and they have looked at it also. Just curious if we may be overlooking something. Thanks.

You said when You check lines 1 and 2, you heard 2 short rings first( The system is ignoring the caller id burst) ESI systems only work with Standard caller ID, and No Fancy ringing.

There is standard ring cadence on all lines and standard caller id. We can connect a ESI 50 model on the same lines and the caller id works every time. The settings are exactly the same as the S Class that pertain to the caller ID settings.

OK, has ESI looked at the Caller ID Buffer? It can Fill up, No more caller ID, Only ESI can Clear it( Or a Master Tech)
