Hi Guys,

I'm at my wits end with this. We're an ESI dealer, I've been to the ESI website and been through all my docs. I hestitate to open a trouble ticket with them on such a simple issue....

Up until last week, I was able to handle more than one call at my extension, i.e., call waiting was enable.

Now, when a second call comes in on my DID, it goes right to voice mail. When a second call comes to my phone via auto attendant, you get a message that says "That extension is busy" and it goes to voice mail.

I have double checked all of my programming, but obviously I am missing something.... Another phone in the office that (appears) to be programmed exactly the same way operates as you would expect, i.e., you get a call waiting tone.

Anyone else experienced this?

Ok, this is right out of the user's guide.

Not sure if You have call waiting turned on or not.

Live outside calls
If your station has been designated to receive live outside calls — i.e., those that have neither come
through the auto attendant nor been transferred — your ESI Feature Phone will:
(a.) Display that you are receiving an outside call
(b.) Ring with a double cadence (internal calls ring with a single cadence).
While you’re on a call, additional live calls to your station will ring with a secondary ring (see page C.5).
To answer any additional calls, you must do one of the following:
• Disconnect from the current call.
• Transfer the current call.
• Place the current call on hold.
You can press RELEASE to drop a current call and automatically be connected to the next ringing call.
Note: If your station is able to receive both live outside calls and calls transferred to you from the auto
attendant, you may wish to turn off call waiting at your station (to avoid confusion between a call waiting)

It's a user setting, not in any installer programming- under program 3: station options I believe.

Could "Autattendant block" in function 321 be turned on? Are internal calls going to voicemail?

Double checked, and AA block is not on.
If I am on a call, and you call my extension it goes immediately to voice mail.

Well, I hate to do it, but I power cycled the system this morning before everyone else got here, and that resolved the issue. Thanks for all of your suggestions guys.

hi noname-

If I am on a call, my phone does not ring for:

a) Internal calls
b) External calls that are manually transferred to me
c) DID calls
d) External calls that are transferred to me by the AA

In the event of an AA transfer, the AA announces "That extension is busy" and deposits the call in voice mail.
