Just had a request for programming on a client's IVX (original) but I have completely forgotten the modem extension. I used to keep the notes but I cleaned the office and thought my pdf of the installer manual had the info. No such luck. Anyone remember? If not, I'll call ESI in the morning. I just figured I might be able to quickly get this out of the way tonight.

The modem is built in, it doesn't have a system extension number. Will you be using Esi-Access to do the remote connection. If yes then you might consider downloading the latest version. After that all you will need is the location phone number and password.

I would be careful about trying to use the latest and greatest Esi-Access on an OLD original
IVX, instead try using an older version first.

The original (4-wire, electronic) IVX didn't use ESI-Access. I believe a terminal connection was required. As for a modem extension, I'm not actually sure. Sorry.

Please, though, don't post the modem extension here. That is Installer-level information that shouldn't be posted in the open forum. Use PM or email if you need to communicate that type of information. Thanks!

Thanks all - I gave ESI a call in the morning and got the info I needed.

grider and nonameyet:
You actually were able to get ESI Access to work on the original? On the installer site they advise it will not work on IVX 20 and IVX original systems.
Normally I use hyperterminal, but if ESI Access works, that would be fantastic. I'll have to play with that later.

I understand and will comply for future requests. Thank you.

Correct ESI-Access does not work on the IVX original (4 wire) systems, but will work on the later Gen 1 IVX's.

I stand corrected. ESI has old systems, older systems and then the ancient. This must be in the latter category.
