Rob, that first receptacle just has masking tape on it so the painters won't slop it up. It's installed in a box. With the second you are seeing inside a large box that the receptacle is installed in. Nothing wrong with either.

As far as the network wiring, the Cisco IP phone should say it all. What would you expect?

Ed- telco gray for the cable ties is all I will allow...

I thought I was the only one who insists on gray ties!

Perhaps, but you've got to admit the use of firestop caulk is a nice touch. We'll just go ahead and overlook the fact the the pipe itself is wide open!

Sadly, these install pics are far better than the kind of stuff I see every day. I'm very close to concluding that no one cares about doing the job properly anymore. Even the customers don't seem to care. I suppose that's why the $25 per drop guys continue to thrive.

:bang:

Honestly now people, the Cisco phones didn't pull the cable, I don't think they deserve the blame here. In fact I would consider the Cisco phones to be innocent victims here...they have to run over that rat's nest.

Jeff:

We used to get them from Sprint North Supply and stocked up on a bunch of them before they shut down.

There is a pretty good deal going on them on e-bay right now though. Here is the item number: 7579848795

You know we had a post some time ago about installs and pics but not many people posted. Kinda makes you go hhhmmmmmm.

Everyone talks a big game but I only know a few that can cough up the proof. Most of them are on the board :thumb:

They posted the pics because they think it is really a quality install. My guess is these guys have seen cable but never actually installed it until now. They're using lacing string for the wrong application and didn't tie any of the knots correctly anyway. It’s a good thing they started with cat-6 because if they manage to get any continuity through any of the wire they just might get base-10 speeds.
