I have a customer with a 7200 and a 7 channel frac PRI. The problem is that once in a while you get "all trunks out of service" when you dial 9. It seems to happen when the circuit bounces or resets. When I look at the channels in the OS Manager it shows them as NONE instead of IDLE. I have also noticed that the only way the channels become idle is when an inbound call is made on that channel. Then once the call is released the port returns to an idle state and works fine. The cust does this to all 7 channels so that things go back to normal. Have went back and forth with telco and samsung tech support and still no clear resolution to the problem. Was wondering if any of you have run into this. BTW this is a NUVOX VOX IP box that shares data and voice.

What is the version of the MCP and the PRI card?
Are you using a CSU?

Are you utilizing a TEPRIa card versus a TEPRI card?

The MCP is 4.69 not sure on the PRI Version, Gator - will look tomorrow. As far as I know bestboards its a TEPRI. We are using an adtran ace csu/dsu. Had the customer take the CSU out of the mix, still same problem. Also noticed that when the circuit bounces you need to hit reset button on the TEPRI card and when the card restarts the channels will come up and work.

I've seen this with VOX PRI's from Nuvox. I updated the software on all the TEPRI cards (one full PRI and one partial with data) but the problem did not go away. The customer changed their data over to Comcast and had the data side taken off the PRI. The no channel available error never came up again.

The entire 7000 series only has the newer style card, even though I think they are reffered to as TEPRI cards.

We have experienced a lot of the issues you are reporting when utilizing the TEPRIa cards. We switched out the TEPRIa's with TEPRI cards and the issues went away. We concluded that the issues were not in the circuits but rather the hardware.

Anyone know the difference in the TEPRIa cards over the TEPRI cards?

I am interested in TEPRI cards if anyone has any to sell. Please PM me with your inventory of TEPRI cards, not the "a" version.

Thanks

CIT,

I'm not certain if I understand your question but I'll provide some details.

We originally installed a few 7200's with TEPRI cards. No issues to our knowledge with the TEPRI cards other than cross talk and the paging coming over speaker phones. We later heard that the issues may be contributed too the TEPRI cards but nobody really knows.

We then installed a few 7200's with the TEPRIa cards and added a TEPRIa card to a 7200 with the TEPRI card (2 cards in one system). All systems experienced a "Slip" on the circuits where the TEPRIa cards were installed including the circuit that was plugged into the TEPRI card.

Hope this clarifies some things for you.

Ironhedz:

Do you mean version 2.69 on the MCP? Check your PRI version also as Gator mentioned and let us know.

I've seen this before but can't remember off hand what the resolution is/was. I'll try to research it and post back here.
