I have a customer with an Interchange 12.1 voice mail that has running with no issues for 3 or 4 years. About 2 weeks ago, it started intermittently not working. XP would still be running and the desktop would look normal, but if you clicked on Voice Mail Viewer, it couldn't connect to the ports. A reboot would clear the problem for a half a day to a day before the same thing would happen again. After trying several different ideas, I ended up restoring the factory image with Acronis, and copying over only the .dvm, .cfg, .txt, and c:\vm\m files that I'd saved from the old install. A day later it did the same thing. When I look in the error log, I see that the following error coincides with the vm stoppage. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

This looks like an error from the Event Viewer. Is anything showing up in the voicemail's error.log file that corresponds to the event?

The only thing in the error.log is the 6701 Serial Link Down. This is the only error that is generated in there when this occurs.

Any recent Windows updates, perhaps ones around the time the problem began?
