Does anybody know how to load cossession on an XP machine and make it work?

Load ONLY the serial (modem) remote application. DO NOT load anything else.

I keep getting a message that I am missing a file when I try to load it on an XP OS. Any ideas?

When you're going through the install, select "Custom Install". From there you'll have to unselect all but the "remote". This way the Host doesn't get installed

Can't remember where the site was but I had the same problem and I found a forum that explained how to do it with the cosession that was supplied with an older system I had. It was made only for DOS and windows up to 98. But like I said there is a way to do it if you do a little web searching.

If you can find it there is a Cossessions version #7 that is made for windows. I believe this will work in Windows XP.
Good luck !
