when do we use 4RSTB card on 2000ips? is it really necessary when we make use of 4DATC card? THANKS! :thumb:

The 4RSTB card is the register card. It interprets or generates ant DTMF tones used in the system. so if you have analogues, Cots or anything else that utilises DTMF you need one of these. As for the 4Datc card if you are just using it for messaging, the RSTB is not needed but if you are using it as a basic auto attendant, then it is needed to interpret key depressions.

hi R4+Z! thanks for the reply. as far as i know, mp/cp card has built-in mf receivers. am i right? which means for a single PIM config, even w/o a 4RSTB card, communication path will never be a problem. Anyway, i got the answer i need.. 4DATC and 4RSTB are partners! Thanks!

Usually, the registers in the CP card are enough, but if you use a lot of analog ports or a lot of DID ports, you might need an RSTB card. The best indication that you need an RSTB is if you have long delays in getting dial tone.

i see! thanks for the info... curiously, do we have a mathematical computation (something like that) to identify how many RSTB cards or MF receiver circuits needed in a given PBX config? just wondering... a lot of thanks!

The 4RSTB is for ANI (Automatic Number Identification) Feature Group D on T1. This is a MF reciever card.
Do not get this confused with the 8RTSA (adding to the built-in registers.

Hi. The 4RSTB card is used for MF signaling with the PSTN. It has nothing to do with the 4DATC card. If you are using the 4DATC for Automated Attendant, you need available DTMF registers (Built-in or/and 8RSTA)for the callers to be able for dialing the desired extension number.
