I have been working on mostly Nortel stuff for the past 10 years or so, with just a bit of dabbling in the Avaya world (mostly patner and definity). I currently work at a hospital which is completely Nortel from the on-site DMS100 Verizon switch to the Norstar systems feeding our various off-site locations. The Rolm 9751 is a full blown PBX system. It's not to hard to do MAC work once you get the hang of it. Seimens still support the system so you might need to contact them for tech support.

I know just enough about the system to do some MAC work. I do have a configuration manual if you need it. For 9751 Release 9005/9006m. PM me if you want that (in PDF format).

I formerly worked for Rolm, which became Siemens. From what I've heard about Nortel, if you can service and administer those you'll have no trouble at all with the Rolm system. I love the 9751. We have many still in service. Parts/phones relatively inexpensive and obtainable. You can create an analog or digital multi-line phone with one screen and a few values. I can't say the same at all about the Siemens 9006.

Yes, the 9751 is easier to admin than an Option system(for me anyway).It's CLI interface is all verb noun syntax, and you can just hit "?" to see a list of valid commands. No need to remember Loads. I rarely needed a manual while programming. I can't say that for a Nortel Option. But I guess it's all what your used to. I first learned on an 8000 and 9000 74 buss. I've worked on 9000 295 buss, 9751 9004 rls, and 9751 9005 rls, mods 10, 40, 50, and 70. They really are robust systems. They are, however, dinosaurs fo sure. Good luck.
