Hi,

I have DK2800 with 4 POTS CO lines cards and each card has the add-on so I should have total of 16 trunks. If I do INT70xx I can connect to each trunk, except 16. When I do Int7016 I hear nothing although the LCD says LINE 16

If I do Int7015 then I get dial tone so I know the card (or add-on) is not dead. The trunk pair is in fact alive and cen be tested at the RJ11 jack (2 lines per jack - pairs 1 and 2)

Now thr trip is that when I connect to any trunk, such as Int7015 I hear the relay click, but on line 16 i DO NOT hear any relays. Trying to connect to CO line 16 is the same as if I dont have the port configured - the result is idential do trying something like Int7028 (of course there is no line 28 as I dont have the hardware).

How can I use my CO line 16 for which I should have the hardware and it appears that there is no wiring problem? It sounds like Toshiba config but I am lost as to how to get that relay to click for line 16 as it does for all the other CO lines (lines 1 through 15)

Thanks everyone
~B

On your telephone back board change places with trunk 15 and 16, so trunk 15 goes into your DK where 16 is and 16 goes where 15 is. If that doesn't work change places with your RCOU's that will prove that your cards are fine.

Hi,

Thanks so much for the reply. I already did that test and -- nothing. CO line 16 is still dead and still no click and 15 always works so its NOT the dialtone or the CO line itself (or monkey wiring)

I am not sure what your second solution involves. Sorry, the terminology is beyound me. Are you suggesting I swap daughter cards? How do I know that CO 16 is on a daughter card. I only know that CO 16 is located on "the second pair of the fourth rj11 jack on the fourth CO PCB card?"

Thanks

Ahh I forgot to mention - the relays would click no matter whether there is CO voltage or NOT. So I should hear the clicks when I do Int70xx regardless of whether there is anything connected to the CO line cards or not. And in my case (like 16) I do not hear the click?

Swap your first RCOU with the second. The CO line is tied to the slot, so if the card is bad the problem would move to CO 8. If you swap cards and the problem is still on CO 16, the problem is in programming.

Thanks Joe,

While I swap the cards, do I turn OFF the power just for that cabinet or to all cabinets?

You can hot swap them while the system is powered. Trunk 16 is on the RCOS by the way.

Hi and thanks everyone for your feedback. I think it would be prudent to check the software configuration first before I start pulling and swapping card. It is just easier and I think you would agree - it poses less risk. So what would it be that could be wrong with the configuration IF WE ONLY limit the chat to software configuration?

How does one assign specific port (whether RCOS or RCOU) to what DK280 refers to as LINE XXX? Is this automatic or do you have to run a program and assign LINE XXX to SLOT XX / PCB XX and port XX (port on that PCB)? I'm trying to dig info on how the lack of relay click could be caused by configuration error, NOT hardware failure. If I find the error, it would be a simple matter of configuring it properly and I can avoid the whole PCB pulling and swapping.

Thanks so much!

The first basic thing I'd check in programming is to make sure that line (16) is assigned. Program 40.
At this point it's not a card config. situation..it's reading the other 15 lines.
