Hello again,

With no replies to a previously posted DBS problem, here is my plea, on bending knee, for a DBS Guru to come to the rescue.

I have recently added CID to our DBS 72 system and it's receiving and displaying CID as it should. The problem is we cannot access the "Call Log" or "Other info, time/date".

I have assigned an FF key (*6) on each extension and enabled Call Log feature (#96), display shows "Caller ID ON".

When the FF key flashes indicating new CID info is present, pressing the FF key displays CID Name and Number (as it should), then pressing the CONF key should show additional info, like time & date, but the display shows ERROR. Also, after displaying the initial CID name and number, pressing the (*) or (#) key should scroll through the CID Call Log showing all previous CID's (up to 25 from the Attendant's extension), but again we only get ERROR.

SMDR is enabled (#93) and SMDR Printer working properly, and displaying CID info.

System: DBS 72, CPC-B, s/w ver. 6.11

Am I missing some program setting?

Thank you, Ron

I'm no DBS guru but after reading the user's guide & the installation manual it looks to me as if you have everything right. I don't work on the DBS systems enough to be absolutely sure so take that with a grain of salt. wink

You probably have the correct cards for your system but here is a list from one of the manuals I read:

Caller id requires the following cards:
* 8-port Loop Start Trunk Card (VB-43412)
* Caller ID Card (VB43511A)
* MFR Card (VB-43431) (If using caller ID automatic DISA)
* CPC-B card (VB-43411) or CPC-AII Card (VB-43412)

You might want to temporarily hook a caller ID box directly to the trunk at the block to make sure you are getting all of the caller ID data from the telephone company.
Sorry I couldn't help you more.

Bobby, thank you for your response. Yes, we have the correct cards for CID. BTW, the L-Trk Card is VB-43511A, and the CID Board is VB-43551 which piggybacks on the L-Trk Card. Also, we have a caller ID box attached "ahead" of the DBS to check incomming CID info. Additionally, I know the info is comming into the SMDR since it shows on our printer interface. The only problem we have is accessing this data via the Caller ID Log from the phones.

Thanks again, Ron

Brian, thank you for your response. Yes, we have restarted the system several times after program changes, to no avail.
As for "I'm I dialing .... ?" I can't imagine what password you could have suggested that would require editting out.

Thanks again, Ron

Brian and Ron,
I wanted to welcome you both to this board. Although we encourage open discussions throughout the public forums, we must all use caution when communicating sensitive information such as passwords, pass-codes, etc. This type of information must be communicated strictly thru email or PM. We do this to protect other user's systems from becoming compromised. Please take time to review our Rules & How to use the Tech Talk Forum .

Once again, welcome aboard! smile
