The LAN interface on the TDA systems for remote programming has worked well for us. However, the internal modems (when we must use them) have been a pain (no answers, lockups, bad handshakes, etc.)

Do other Panasonic dealers/techs experience the same inconsistent results from the internal remote modems on the TDA systems?

Thanks! :bang:

Use an external modem to call them. Internal Win modems don't work well. Although using just AT in initalize string my Win modem works w/100 and 200's

Thanks for the response. Yes, external modems certainly DO work better in many cases. You're right.

I was not clear in my original question, though. We have had problems with Panasonic's own internal modem card (daughter board) that links up with X599 in the TDA. Do the Panasonic modem cards ever work for anyone??? I "hear" from other sources that they do not.

I've only done one TDA50 and had lots of trouble with the system answering but then hanging up. At first I was trying an internal modem but found out they do not work well. Then went US Robotics and still had tons of trouble. Finally was able to go in after I went to starting in rel. 2 console as the system was rel.2. Rel. 3 console would not work for me in this case with the rel. 2 system. Only been in once but after using rel. 2 maintenance software I had no trouble doing what I needed to do.
I chalked it up to not knowing about the external modem so not being able to test all this while I had the system in our office.
Hope this helps some.
Steph

Use external modem to call into the Panasonic, or try just AT, in the initialise line in soft ware when using internal modem to call in with.

i have dozens of these modems for the td and the tda's and i can never get an external modems to work at all but never have problems with the internals the trick is using a external modem on the system you are dialing from.
