So something odd happened after we renumbered extension numbers and untangled the previous system where the abbrevated dial tables were used to remap DID to non-matching extension numbers.

On our SX-200 system the main number is delivered as a DID via PRI. That DID number is mapped to an LDN apperance on a Sub-attendant console. Then in the call rerouting table we have DID night set to N1 (the night bell extension), and N2 is the Express Messenger hunt group (extension 700)

When the system is in Night 2 the caller is greeted with a "please enter mailbox number" prompt, instead of the system greeting. I had thought that any extension that did not have a programmed box went to the system greeting. What am I missing here? What determines whether Express messenger answers with the "Enter mailbox prompt" or the system greeting?

Thanks
Mark Farver

Mark;
You'll never guess what's happening to your system. The string of digits received as caller ID are delivered as "*" ANI "*" DNIS.
"*" is the digit that causes the auto Attendant to respond with "enter your mailbox number.
Let me know if this makes sense!

I guessing I probably need to eat a digit in the dial in trunk form?

Do you know what the option is called exactly (I'm not at the site, so I have to try to talk a co-worker thru turning it off)?

Thanks again

Disable 502, 503, 504, 613.
Make sure 229 is set to enabled.
Also make sure he's adjusting the class of srvice for the voice mail ports!

I've also seen this happen to Express Messenger on CFBNA -> VM when it's a hospitality VM and the mailbox is not checked in.

But this doesn't apply to your situation.

Weird, changing those options appears to have made it worse. Now I get Congestion whenever the system is in n2. Odder still, Day service now goes to the Auto-attendant first. (Since its a LDN, I would think it would ring the subconsole first)

Anyhow... it actually works better this way, so I'll leave it until my next onsite.

Thanks

Do you have different tenants programmed into this system?
It sounds like part of your system is following the NIGHT settings, but the other part isn't??
