To amplify on my comment about keeping the DSL after porting the number...
I'm sure that you could re-activate the DSL as a separate account (either "naked" with no dial-tone if you are lucky, or with dial-tone on a new number if your provider is like those around here); but my limited experiences are that if you simply request the number to be ported to another provider that your entire account including the DSL will be terminated.
