Bring the cable up, pull the wires tight and start making them from the bottom up (V/S pair on a female, BL/W on a male) - it's a lot easier, you're not working over yourself, just building out.
I had to make one this year for the first time in forever. Paperhanger got water inside of an amphenol (wall phone removed for his convenience).
I had a plastic baggie over the connector and he took it off! Still not sure why. Next thing I know the first line is hosed. Trace the problem back to that cable, Opened up the amp and the contacts are burned. Barely had enough slack to make a new connector and that was with the tool perpendicular on the wall.
A lot of bad language heard that day - but I couldn't have done it without the tool!
