I'm simply amazed at how many responses this question has generated. I don't even think about what method I use to do this. I just pull the wires off and if there is any residue, I clean it off by whatever method or device is handy. If a Spudger isn't handy, I'll use a pen knife or even the corner of my small pocket screw driver blade. I guess the biggest issue is when I am cleaning old salvaged blocks and then I almost always use my spudger. Should I find clip fatigue during a service call, if squeezing it back together doesn't feel right, I'll abandon the clip after labeling it or simply add a 66 block piggy back quick clip (Suttle #SE183A2)
