Have a postage machine installed to an analog phone 8 card. Machine cannot dial out due to "static". I tested from the IPO and from the wall jack and I cannot hear any static what so ever.

We are 100% digital trunking via PRI. I cannot bypass the IPO w/ a POTS l for trouble shooting. My theory is that the postage machine is the problem or the PRI is comming in too HOT.

The fax machine connected to the same analog phone 8 card works perfect.

Any ideas???

Why do you say "Machine cannot dial out due to "static"?

In the PRI a dynamic-T?
The Baud rate that the postage machine uses my be too much for it to handle. Faxes will generally negotiate a slower speed to compensate line issues. That may be why the fax works and the postage machine does not.

Have you monitored on a butt set connected to the station while the postage machine is trying to connect?

Monitored on a butt set and also thru Manager. Shows successfull connection then drops after one minute.

The Postage machine people said, "due to static" while onsite the machine only shows problem code 0007. What that decodes to I have no idea.

I did find out that our local PRI is emulated from ATT via a channel bank type setup called "IP Flex". others have been having problems when connecting analog devices i.e. fax, modem, postage machines, etc... even reports of missing fax pages.

I think this is the issue "IP Flex" circuit. We are going to suggest ordering an 1MB. Also, the local AT&T rep suggested this for our customer.

IP FLEX... look it up guys. I know I will be looking more at it.

Yeah, we are familiar with the IP flex.
And NOT in a good way.
