Merlin Legend system, New to this so not exactly sure what other identification information is needed so let me know what else is needed to help in answering this question.

I have setup an extension that rings on two other extensions. At the moment there is no phone associated with the original extension but if one is needed to do what I am trying to do I can do that.

Ideally, the shared extesnion would ring at both phones it is ringing at now and if there is no answer after say 5 rings then it gets forwarded to an outside line (cell phone). Can this be done?

I know that I can forward immeiately but I would like the ability for it to ring a few times interanlly before outcalling.

Thoughts? Thanks for any insight you may can provide.

Eric

Would depend on the Release of Legend system. At a display set, dial *05 and let us know.

there is no delay forwarding to an outside line. however, what type of voice mail do you have? You may be able set it up to cover to the voice mail and have the voice mail transfer to the outside line. i have done this with Keyvoice, but not with merlin mail.

You could also try building a seperate calling group, cover that phone to the group, and forward the member of the calling group to the outside line. You will have to physically have phones for this setup.

I am using Merlin for voicemail so I think that rules out your first reccommendation.

In speaking with a friend of mine, his reply to my question was the following....
"...It can only be done with a secondary extension to secondary delayed cover and remote forward out."

Sounds somewhat like your second solution. Does what he says make sense to you? I am not sure how to go about doing this.

Thanks all for your suggestions and inputs.

Use Delay Call Forwarding. You must have Trk-to-Trk transfer set for that ext, as well as a forward button. Then go to extensions, more, Delay Frwd, dial ext no., enter, drop, dial # of delay rings, enter.

Oh, yes, forgot to mention Remote call forwarding for that ext also.
