There's a couple levels of logging. SMDR only shows the final extension that handled the call (which is what you are seeing).

If you have System OAI Events licensed (back in 6.x it was points based, so you had xx points to assign to what features you wanted), and you had software that could take the OAI Event streams like the Inter-Tel Call Reporter, or other 3rd party expensive call reporting software. You could see what CRA was picked up, and depending on the software, show you every step along the way.

But the SMDR stream will only show final extension that handled the call.
