There are definitely terminals that will allow you to strap the violet/brown pair over to feed the AC power in to the 4A. They are pretty much adjacent to each other. Keep in mind that the screw terminals in the 82B are numbered by the pin numbers of the 25 pair connector. In this case, terminals 24 and 49 would be strapped over to the terminals marked AC. You would then send power to the 4A over the violet/brown pair from the KSU.

I'm still looking for a couple 82b connecting blocks if anyone feels like rooting about and seeing if you can find some for me! Just send me a message.

Also Ed you were correct about pins 24 and 49 but what is interesting is that the 82b schematic shows those dead ending on the block but apparently they pass through to the line set. I haven't figured out which one or both pass through but with a 2565 set connected there is a short that will blow the fuse at the ksu. So that was a bummer. I just haven't taken a phone set apart to see if the violet brown pair is connected to and which of them passes through the 82b. Just thought it odd since the block diagram schematic really looks like that pair terminates at the block... I'll futz with it more when I have some spare time.

My stuff is packed up right now but I have a painted and non-painted blue 2565 with 4A speakerphone and 82B connecting blocks. However after seeing the painted ones, I would go ahead and get them painted. I agree you can't tell them apart and the finish looks better than original IMHO. The only drawback to painting them is getting the lettering on the transmitter again.

Yeah if I want to go the painting route I was thinking of maybe having one of the tint shop/vinyl places see if they could do a repro lettering overlay for the transmitter. I thought they might be a better option than transparent labels. I thought scanning the original and then duplicating on wrap material might work...

My problem with the painting is finding someone to actually do it for me. Thats something Im not good at and if someone was batching blue I figured that would be lots easier.

Join TCI. There's a member there who does painting with Polane, "The Paint of Choice" for people who want to change the colors of their phones.
