If you have the blue leads on the switch hook, then the set was more than likely manufactured in 1981 and someone just put a used or refurbished replacement dial in it.

Thanks, Ev. I guess you are saying I should not move the green lead from #8 to #16 since it was manufactured after 1977 according to page 2 of the BSP. Whether I moved it or not, I still cannot get the speakerphone to work. I believe the transformer is supplying power via the M2FG cord because I hear a click when I push the ON button, but no dial tone.
I feel maybe I have hooked up something wrong from the M16C cord to the 2830 set. I am not sure what all the symbols mean on the schematic, but they seem to be hooked up correctly. If I go with the X option, should I hook up the S-W and W-S to terminals G and A on the network? What does the pi symbol mean, spare terminal? Are they to be hooked together on a spare terminal? Which spare terminal? Are terminals 6 and 12 on the 108 supposed to be strapped together? I never did that with any other of my 108 speakers.

It has been almost two weeks since my last post above so I take it no one knows or cares. Thanks to a kind member of TCI, I was able to get it working. The problem was a defective 108 speaker which is unusual to the point of wierd because I had tested it several times with my usual 4A speakerphone setup and it worked fine.
I will go ahead and answer the questions I posed above. I did move the green wire from Terminal #8 to #16. Then, all one has to do is connect the following wires from the M16C cord to the following locations on the terminal board: W-BR to 10, W-O to 22, BL-W to 6, W-BL to 25, G-W to 24, W-G to 30, and O-W to 29. Additionally, place W-S to G and S-W to A on the network. The other wires from the M16C cord are insulated and stored, and with my cord, they already were.
