I had a probelm with someone faxing black pages and wasting toner on our faxmachine faster then we could replace it. I didnt use programming to stop it but used the Callview software to recognise the number and send it to a spare unused DDI so it would just ring.

Was thinking of forwarding the call to prem rate number but wasnt sure who would get the charge!

othewrwise that worked!

You are very close.

Go to System\Trunk-Related Info\Call Routing Table 1\Pattern 4001. Change ring in type to be single and the destination to be wherever it normally would ring.

Go to System\Trunk-Related Info\Call Routing Tables. Change table 3's Call Routing Key to be 'Outside Party Number'
Add\edit the '+' pattern to point to Call Routing Table 1. Add one pattern and make sure it is ABOVE the '+' pattern, the pattern number should be yer cell fone number. Ring-In Destination should be voicemail.

Go to System\Devices and Feature Codes\CO Trunk Groups. Locate yer PRI T1 trunk group. Day ring-in destination should be Call Routing Table 1. Chnage this to Call Routing Table 3. Test w/ yer cell fone to be sure you go to voicemail and tert from a deskset to be sure calls ring where they are supposed to.

Can you insert an application before the hunt group with a fax tone detection? Place a 2 second pause to allow time for the fax tone to begin. You could then route all faxes to a fax machine or email address. The application would be transparent to any callers.

Thank you superfoneguy - your instructions worked perfectly. This blocked the number for all extensions. What if I wanted to block it for only a single extension?

Call Routing Table 3 would have that caller number route to another Call Routing Table that would contain all the DID patterns you want this caller to ring. The '+' symbol at the bottom of the pattern list could then route to a Call Routing Application that hangs up on the caller when no match is present. It's alot of work, but possible.

In your case I would route the caller ID to a fax machine on the PBX so you can at least receive the faxes that are being sent to the wrong number.

Also keep in mind on my previous post that if you use night mode, the solution I posted will not work. You will need to go to System\Devices and Feature Codes\CO Trunk Groups\PRI T1 trunk group\Night Ring-In Destination. If the value currently is different than the original Day value, than you will need to program Call Routing Table 4 just like 3 except the '+' value will need to point to yer Night table.

Does that make sense?
