I installed an sbx yesterday and calls forward to VM after ring no answer on the stations but gives a busy if the station is in use. I must have missed something. Also I couldn't set the password for the VM is there a default that needs to be changed.

Forward to voice mail when busy is set manually at each phone. It is a user function. The SBX does not have the same kind of station presets that the XTS or STS has. Are you asking about the main greeting password? Or are you asking about individual mailbox passwords? Passwords for mailboxes are set at each station trans/pgm 312 sets it (they can also be set in admin programming)...but they have to be turned on in station attributes III pgm 113 in order to function.
To change system greetings thru CCR the password is the same as attendant station password.

Derrick, I know you are probably right. It seems I had the same problem as TCE early on and someone suggested the pgm 114 fix and I thought it worked at the time. I must have been wrong.

That is correct (except for the operator station) but the user has to record their mailbox greeting first or the forward will not save.

By operator station I assume you mean ext 100. What is it for ext 100?

311...you need to download the latest VMQR from V-connect. It is REV 3.7

Derrick, I have noticed with customers that if a customer does speaker+dnd/fwd+4# it wont work, but if they do speaker+dnd/fwd+2# the calls will forward on busy and no answer... That was on a recomendation from techsupport. I had a customer recently that thought I was wrong for only telling them 2# so they did 4# which makes sense. They called later and said it wasnt forwarding on busy, they were hearing busy signals. I told them to use 2# and we tested it both ways and it works fine.

Under what conditions? What software release? I tested it in my office that has 3.5 and fwd 4# works on busy. FWD 2# will only forward on busy not on no answer even when auto fwd to vm is turned on. Do you have auto fwd to voice mail enabled? Where these calls that didn't work coming from an auto attendant? My test calls were transferred from the operator station.

These calls came from the auto attendant and I did have auto fwd on. I have not tried a transferred call yet. This is what tech support told me to do when I started installing sbx's and asked about it. The software is 3.5 as well. I can't test it on my demo as I have a fire dept borrowing it until they decide if they will buy it or another system from us.

I tried it with the Auto Attendant as well. FWD4# worked just like it is supposed to both busy and NA. FWD2# forwarded only on busy just like it is supposed to. I don't know why tech support would tell you that 2 works for both and 4 doesn't. If they were actually backwards that would not be a good thing at all.

Sorry, its the same thing just make sure you hit speaker FIRST, not just the dnd/fwd key or you will get the menu to change the ring mode.

312 sets the password when there is not one by default (usually the extension number) try 322 and see if it doesn't let you change the vm password for a station. Use the extension number as the current password.
