We just installed a CS70N yesterday and it works fine! Didn't see any difference between setting the rotary switch on 1 or 2 though. We set the Mic switch to C and the Vol on 2 to approximate the handset level.

I just had to share this...

Setting up the auto-attendant for a new install - if callers does nothing, the error/timeout option does not occur until the system plays the CCR greeting 4 times. Customer wants it to work on the first go around.

I couldn't figure out where you adjust this so I called tech support. Here is the answer:

System Attributes 1 - DISA Retry Count. This controls how many times the greeting replays.

Now how was I supposed to figure that out? DISA and auto-attendant are two totally different features in every system I've ever worked with.

SBX is a pretty good system, but the programming often does not make sense.

DWFlood,

Get this. if the AA answers all incoming calls and then while in the main greeting be able to dial an extension or more than 1 digit you need check the DISA box for CO Lines... took me forever to figure that out when this first came out.

RBF... I've made that mistake also in the early stages...trying to set up ringing in the daytime and AA at night... It's ggod to have a excel doc open and record all the little things that count.

The trick to understanding this system is to realize that the voice mail and phone system are one integrated unit not just two things sharing the same box. The sts voice mail flash or hd and the XTS inskins share the same box but are still two seperate devices with thier own programming interfaces. The SBX is a voice mail system as much as it is a phone system everything is there except for the flash memory card. There are no conventional "ports" or extension numbers for the voice mail, no group numbers. That is why you need to use DISA, because it is part of the whole system.

I suspect that when the new External/Hd vm comes out next year, that it will still work pretty much the same way. A new software package for the SBX will allow you to program it all from one interface. The voice mail will connect to the same slot as the present voice mail using a ribbon cable.

I would really like to know wht the MBX vm is like cause I suspect that is what the next SBX vm will be.
