#1 looks alot like what the lecs use around here because they are too lazy to run cable.

takes some sort of dsl line in but gives you 1-5 pots lines out.

i have a dealership that has some old verizon cable running into it. but instead of them replacing it when it has problems......nooooo.....they find 1 good pair as the feed, then put that dsl signal on it and get the regular lines back out to the old demarc. this place has about 5 of those things! they suck! if that dsl line in goes out, BAM! the 1-5 lines are dead.

#5 is the old single line protector WECO #123. These follow after the 93C/1293C metal enclosed protectors with fuses. #2 looks like a Bell DSL SNI. The others do appear to be AIP protectors. #1 looks similar to a DLS/T box. This would be used for combined voice&data changed over to a standard SNI.
