I know we have talked about this before, but I can't find the info. I have a customer who wants to extend their voice and data network across a parking lot to an outlying building. Has anyone done this? What type of equipment did you use and how hard was the setup?

Yes, we used Cisco units that plug into the switch and the other side goes up to the roof to a directional antenna which shoots over to the reciever.

Forgot to tell you that it was a easy setup Cisco sent all the equipment and special cable and then its just like adding a switch to the other building

If you need more info I'll round it up for you and shoot you an email, let me know.

go with the linksys product. they are a division of cisco and the quality is there withouth the price. additionally you can pickup at more places versus the cisco.

The Quickbridge 20 was recommended to me. We didn't use because it was for a temporary application and the ROI didn't add up against 2 dsl lines...

I have a customer who just installed a wireless data connection from one building to the next--while I was trying to get cost estimates on pt to pt T-1 and other info so that we could get the voice over there too. But I'm thinking--why can't we use the new wireless stuff. I just don't know where to start---but I'd like to learn. This seems like a good place to start. I'm going to talk to thier IT guy this weekend to find out what he did. According to customer--it seemed fairly easy and worked perfect right away.
