I have a fair amount of telecom experience, although I'm a little rusty on some points. I'm still not sure why the Debut won't answer. I believe anything that is plugged into its ports (CO line or ATI-D)actually has the effect of taking Debut off-hook, hence the busy tone when I try to dial in. However, when I monitor the port with a butt set I don't hear any greeting, etc. I don't think I need Keylink at this point unless it would help me "re-boot" Debut? Thoughts?

Keylink 2.5 is a small file that I can email to you, as long as your firewall will pass an .exe file. On a debut that old you might need the remote from PC anywhere to talk to it. If it's gonna talk. On those older systems that's what I use. I don't know if keylink is backward compatible or not, one of the other guys will probably know. If you want the file let me know.

If Keylink will work on Debut, please send it to me. Is Keylink menu driven or command prompt? My Debut system was suited for a DOS based computer with a "key" in the parallel port to authorize it. It was my understanding that this VM system could be used without a computer, and I think it will. However, I think I need to get to a setup area to initialize the unit to the Comdial switch (otherwise it doesn't know how to configure itself (without the initial setup code)). If Keylink will let me address Debut through the serial port maybe I can still salvage it for my use. If I can't get it going, I have an ESI 4-port digital unit I can put in (I would like to know the status of the Debut first, though).

I'm not sure if it will work for you or not but I'll send it to the email in your profile.

I couldn't get Keylink to communicate with Debut. Is there a pdf document on Keylink? After executing the file, I ran the "remote" program but it did not connect. I made the obvious checks on baud, com ports, etc. By the looks of the copy right on the program, it should work (1998). jc

I guess we can close this thread. I connected my ESI Voice Works system and all works great. It bugs me that I couldn't connect to Keyvoice, though. Thanks for all help! jc
