We have a Comdial DPX system with Comdial Impact phones. We dial 330# to access the Voice Mail system. Is there a way to program a DSS button, or any button for that matter, that will at least dial the 330#. Is there also any way to program a button with your station number and/or password to access your individual voice mail box? TIA for any ideas.

Try using ITCM **3 then enter 330#
Or ITCM **1 use Itercom for line then 330# hold hold then password.

I tried INTCM, **3, press a DSS button, then 330#. I then tried INTCM, **1, press a DSS button, then 330#. Neither works. I tried just 330 but it then answers as an incoming call to transfer to that extension, not the voice mail. Am I missing a step? TIA again for the ideas.

Try this
1. Press Intercom **1
2. Press programmable button
3. Press Intercom
4. Enter 330# Hold Hold your station# Hold Hold your password
5. Press TRNS/CNF
6. Press Speaker to end
see if that works

No combination of that seems to work. It has to be **3 because **1 accesses an outside line. I tried just to get the 330# to work first, then I could add the rest. I did intercom, **3, button, Intercom,330#, trns/cnf, speaker. I left out the second Intercom one time, substituted trns/cnf another time, used only 330 another time and any combination of those that I could think of including trying **1 to no avail. Something tells me that I am SOL on this one. TIA for the ideas. If you come up with any others, please fire them at me. Thanks again.

If you have access to programming from a VDT, put a XVM button onto your phone. It will work as a Transfer to Voicemail as well as a Voicemail access button. TO use it as an access button, just hit * or # when you hear the voicemail answer. Enter your mailbox number and password and your good to go.

Yea I don't think you will be able to put the whole Voice mail, station and password on one button. I've never had anyone ask that before. But hey we gave it a shot.The best you can do is to put a XVM button and dial in the rest.

What is the difference between * * 1 and * * 3 in programming?

**1 is for speed dialing, **3 is for auto intercom buttons

You can have one button access, but it is a little tricky to do, and I have not done it in a while. You have to write a batch file and keep it in the VM directory. The batch file will looks something like this : 1402=330,,,140,,,*. The 140 is the extension, with 2 being the following digit. You would have to enter a line for each extension. (Make sure to verify the 1402 number by running a trace.) Once you are finished with the batch file, put a name on the file. Go to the Trans.txt file and insert the batch file at the bottom of the entries.

I know it is a little sketchy, but I would have to play with this for a bit to verify everything. Like I said, it was something I did a while ago.

This is also assuming that you are using a Keyvoice voicemail system.
