Not sure if this is dead or not, but from c: prompt type rcptver hit enter, and it will show you version.

Hope this helps.

I have a question.....
Have multiple customers with Perfect voice 4.3, and some with 4.2

Lets play what if....

What do I do when the hard drives crash on these units.

I know on the 4.2's that I can ghost them and re-install to new hd because hardware key is on parallel port......BUT

On 4.3 units the key is on the HD.

There has got to be a way to protect these units form a HD crash...RIGHT???

P2ii.. help me on this one.....

I would like to know that one myself as the hard drive on mine took a crap....tech never left install software, not sure it is as simple as that, but we had to have him reinstall a while back...but it took a dump just recently again....I have the key that was on the bottom of the unit, ended up having to replace the cimputer itself because the motherboard took a dump the first time....everything was hunky dorey after that...until now when the hard drive went post toasty....

This is a bit tricky. Our tech support only supports certified perfectvoice techs and tech support are the ones who would generate the key. However, the license is owned by the customer with the unit. You could have the customer call channel dealer support and find a dealer to help or possibly pay for non-certified support and to drum up some install disks. If you still have install disks or a ghosted image of the original drive then the new drive would generate a new disk id that a new virtual key could be created for. If you go the paid support route, get the system up and running with PV4.3 running and let me know ahead of time and I'll put on the alert. I could probably help you myself. Another thing, the old drive must be returned to us or someone will be billed quite a few bucks. I,m not sure the amount. That becomes the tricky part.

You would need install disks. I would probably have dig myself just to find some.
