Have a customer who has Keyvoice Corporate Office Call Processing System 8.2. It has worked for years. Now, it will only boot into DEMO mode. I'm getting the following error message:

voice-mail hardware not responding-will continue in demo mode

We ordered and installed a replacement ISA card and got the same message. I moved the hard drive & the card to new computer and still received the same message. Maybe our replacement card is bad?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I don't really know that system, but I will bet you that the software dongle (a device that looks like a gender changer) plugged into the parallel port of the PC is missing.

QUICKLY try to find the old PC before it's too late and recover the dongle. Once you plug it into the new computer's parallel port, I'll bet you will be fine.

The old computer does have a dongle, and I didn't grab it! I'll run get it now & give it a try.

Thanks

I'd bet on the missing dongle theory.

Moved the dongle from the old computer to the new. Problem remains. I see what looks like a battery in the dongle. Should I replace it?

No. Check the screen on boot up. See if it says firmware fail 300h.

Well, you can stop laughing now. I found out its not a battery. I get a message displaying 4 or 5 addresses & each says No Card Present. Under that it says Drivers Not Loaded.

Check the board addresses to make sure it is configured like the original. Also make sure the replacement is the same type and model of board.

Thanks for the reply. I made sure the board was exactly the same as the original & configured the jumpers on the board identically. This has been a real nightmare for us. Does anyone know a dealer who offers support on these?

So is it still not working then? As for dealers, check the Installers link at the top of the page, or call Comdial to have them help you locate one.
