Customer wants to upgrade voice mail system from 4 ports to 8 ports. They have a VMS(4)-U30 card with a FM256(4) drive, version 6.72, Q51731.
I believe I still need to get the DSP board (?), but do I also need to replace the flash drive with an 8-port drive? I see that there is a NEC part "VMS 4 to 8 port Upgrade Kit for VMS(4)-U30", but I'm not sure what that includes.
It's a little confusing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure you'll need both, Dsp for your Hardware and Flash Drive for your Software.

You will need the DSP & the serial number of the drive. NEC will provide an activation code to open up ports 5-8 on the drive.
