Example:

Station 101 has Forward All Calls going to station 105 by way of dial code 41. Meanwhile, station 101 also has Busy/No Answer set to go to voice mail via dial code 43. When a call forwards to 105 and times out, it knows to go to 101's mailbox due to the BNA forwarding.

However, if you change 101's BNA forwarding to go to 105 via dial code 43, then it has no way of knowing how to get to 101's VM.

IPKII: Settings are same as yours.

jzett:
That makes sense (only one forward) if the forwarded station answers. If it doesn't answer, shouldn't it follow the Release-->Take a Message settings?

Or has the BNA forward superceded that, and Release-->TAM is ignored?

Why does Forward All Calls behave differently? It is chaining 101->105 (not answered)->300 (voicemail box), so it appears it can chain, where BNA can't.

Thanks for the numbers - much easier to explain...

It wont follow the release/TAM setting begins the phone system has not allowed voicemail to control the call. You are correct that call forward all behaves differently, per F&S Call Forward – All Call has higher priority than any combination of
Call Forward – Busy/No Answer. Is this a boss/secretary type of application?

You got it. It's The Boss...

He's also the chief software engineer and spends a lot of his time back and forth between his office and the labs. He wants to leave it forwarded to whichever lab he might be working in. That way he can catch the call if he's in his office and have it go to the voicemail if he's somewhere other than that lab.

He's looking for a set-it-and-forget-it solution. FAC isn't it because it won't ring in his office. B/NA isn't it because it won't go to voicemail.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

How about a SIE appearence on some of the nearby Lab phones. It is like a CAR key and can be set to ring either immediate or delay. He would have a visual of "his" extension ringing...
