Changing each suscriber transfer options to 'Release' fix the problem of erratic message taking for the boxes. Now every time I call from outside the boxes take te msg when rings up to 5 times.

The hangup issue still is the same. If someone gets in to a suscriber box and hang up when the VM ask to leave a message, when the suscriber open his box, hear a 30 seconds of busy tone. I have checked the other boxes and the lenght of the busy tone always is 30 seconds. I have the boxes set to msg-max 90 seconds.

I ask to the CO Office if some service is need for my VM to detect when outside callers hang up (Internal callers does not have this problem). I request polarity inversion in my test line. I did the test but no sucess.

This are my settings for review:

7-1: ESI 8-21 = 33

7-2: ports 33, 34, 35, 36 set as Digital VM 01, 02, 03 and 04.

4-10: 33=200, 34=201, 35=202, 36=203
4-14: Port 33 Master? yes.

4-15: 33:ICMFWD201, 34:ICMFWD202, 35:ICMFWD203, 34:ICMFWD200

1-8-08 I have not configured this block.. this show me CLS02(00) when enter. only 00 have many LK's green leds on (almost all). 01 to 15 does not have any light on.

4-12: I have not configured this also, actually it shows CO1 to CO8 are available for my 33,34,35 and 36 ports, but don;t know if it need any change.

4-17: looking for ports 33,24,35 and 36 with this function shows CLS(1)=15 for all...

3-42: I'n not using dit by now.
3-43: not set.

2-06: all vm ports set to L01..L0X = NON

1-6-05 shows 01=NON, 02=TEL02, 03=TEL03 up to 15=TEL15

3-45: i have not set in any CO.

The VM integration options in the switch setup cossesion window are:

CRR,,,, DT DT3=3 DT8=0 DT9=0 ELECTRA

let's go over them 1 by 1:

7-1 is ok

7-2 is ok

4-10 is ok

4-14 is ok (you might try changing them all to yes. shouldn't hurt. i have heard it both ways from nec)

4-15 is ok

1-8-08 this is the class of service. (ie page 4, linekey5 turns on live record.)

4-12 is button assignments. it is probably ok

4-17 is ok. this means it doesn't have attendant class of service features

3-42/43 dit/ana you're not using

2-06 is ok. you're system is not split into 2 seperate systems for 2 different tennants

1-6-05 this is dss console button programming. not really needed for the vm

3-45 this is where you turn on live recording for each of the lines. you would still need to enable it in class of service (1-8-08) in order to use it though

i'm not seeing how when people call in is it getting to the vm. are you doing it on 4-01/02 day/night ringing?

not sure about the busy thing.....i have a guy i am emailing now. will get back to you on that.

try turning on 4-35 for the vm ports.

when they hang up are you getting a disconnect signal from the phone company?

Well, people are reaching the VM due to 4-1/4-2 ring assignment.

No sucess with the 4-14 for all ports, also with the 3-45 for my CO8 line..
4-35 turned on, but not improve.


I'm going to ask CO company for the kind of the disconnect signal. I have 5 U.S CO-lines and 8 mexican CO-lines but the results are the same. I think this is some related to the duration of pulse widht for releasing of tie line.. looking around in the net I have seen some products specifically designed to un-tie lines and send a disconnect signals. Let'me check the type of disconnect (if any) of my CO offices, if tones, pulses or line ground is being sent. If no sucess, I will leave the VM with tone commands only and no voice boxes.

B.t.w, my 1-8-08 settings I think are as default:

* Call Forward All Call
* Trunk queuing
* Automatic Callback
* barge-in (calling party) this is not set.
* Rejection of barge-in(called party)
* Timed Alarm fopr SLT
* Tone override
* Absence message
* Callback message
* Station outgoing Lockout set
* Call Forward Busy/No Ans Set
* VRS Voice Message
* DISA Password set
* User Ringing line preference set/reset
* Tone override(called party)
* LCR Bypass. this is not set.
* Station trunk-to-trunk transfer. this option is not set
* Account code entry. not set.
* Call alert notification
* LCR recall
* DSS key transfer operation. not set.

are you getting the problems on the us lines or the mexican lines? or both?

The problem is in both lines. Yesterday I talk to the mexican central located in a next city. They said the disconnect signal is actually a drop between 350 to 600 ms wide.

I have testing with this settings like 3-17, 3-18, 3-40 but no luck.

In the Elitemail docs the only references to disconnect is:
"Positive disconnect: digital signal".

another one..

"Release on LCR?
Controls whether or not the voice mail system assumes the caller
has hung up when it receives a loop current open signal." I have this set to yes.

"Release on LCR
Tells the voice mail system whether
hung up when it receives a loop current
Electra Elite telephone system."
