When you call into the voice mail, even though you don't hear anything, have you tried dialing anything anyway to see what happens? It could just be a case of your voice prompts being gone and needing to be rerecorded.

My guess is that the vm needs to reinitilized through hyperterm. It is answering but not playing a greeting. I have had this happen before and it required a firmware upgrade to the voice mail. Only once did I have to replace the voicemail when the firmware upgrade wouldn't work.
