About 99% of my work is directly for a customer. Some times the GC will try to stick his nose in my business, however they don't get to far. I just explain that I am not working for them.

It all depends on who writes you a check.

The new CSI Master Format makes us directly responsible to the GC or owner (DIV 27) where before we were responsible to the electrical contractor. Now we have the same status as the electrical contractor.

make a freind with everyone you never know who you are going to need. I treat everyone good even the labor. This last job the plumber had to cut there pipe because my cable wrap around it.
What I did for them was they where working in a hallway and I let them have it and came back in two days to do that area. so when i ask them to cut there pipe they didn't mine at all they had to cut it twices for me and the labor was coming around all the time cleaning up my mess.
thats what i do and you have the lease problems and a good work place some times people ask for a jack or some wire I will give it to them it goes a long way
