I'm trying to set up a new notify template using the default VOICE-HOME template and modifying it to a VOICE-HOME-LOGON template. The new string looks like this:

9,W(4,T)%V,,W(3,V),P(U)P(M)-R(G7,%S0,50)F-500-W(2,V)*%U#%S0#-

The string works fine until after it plays greeting 7. After I enter the security code, ( or even if I don't), it pauses a second or 2 then plays MOH indefinately. No matter how long I wait or what touchpad key I press after that makes no difference. My only option is to hangup and try again with the same outcome.

Any thoughts?

have you got the VM ports set to vm to vm blocking?
as the voicemail will pickup another port and dials back into the mailbox and uses the security code you entered as %S0 and enters it after the %U at the end of your string.

9,W(4,T)%V,,W(3,V),P(U)P(M)-R(G7,%S0,50)F-yyy-W(2,V)*%U#%S0#-

yyy is the VM pilot number.
make sure the "VM to VM Call Blocking" disabled in the system
for the DK424 it is program 31
for the CTX/CIX it is program 580

It's a DK40 and VM to VM is disabled in pgm 31. 500 is the pilot #. Why does music play as if it's MOH after greeting 7.

It plays music because after you enter your security code, it does a hook-flash which places you on hold. Try replacing the W(2,V) with 3 commas.

change the W(2,V)
with W(3,V)

this will wait for 3 rings for a voice to answer usually quicker with SMDI integration over DTMF

UPDATE: I got side-tracked for a few weeks but finally got some time to resolve the problem.

Carlos, Tried upping the ring count W(2,V) to W(3,V). It made no difference.

Phonemeister, Tried 3 commas and it worked. However, it was too long to wait so I knocked off 2 commas (4 sec's),and it gave better results.

Then, I wandered why greeting 7 was needed since the system already asks you to enter security code when you logon to vm. So after playing around with the string some more I deleted R(G7,%S0,50) to get rid of gtg 7 and the storage token. Got rid of %S0#- from the end of the string so that the system prompts you to enter security code after *%U#. The new string looks like this.

9,W(4,T)%V,,W(3,V),P(U)P(M)-F-500-,*%U#

So far it seems to work pretty good.

Anyhow, Thanks Carlos and Phonemeister.Couldn't have done it without you!
