Toshiba Digital Strata DK 40. Voice mail is a 4 port Stratagy Flash Voice Mail.

Phone is DKT2010-SD

I'm going out to take a look at voicemail that hasn't worked for years. When they hit the button it just rings forever.

What sorta things am I going to need to fix this? Admin software? Cable?

I found a manual or two already.

What lights are lit on the Flash?, If all lights are on I suspect it if full or dead, If it is full there are ways to recover this.If no lights are lit check the mains power.

I haven't made it out there yet... If it works at all it should be full cause its been years.

Post a response once you get there as there are several things you can do to try and rescue it.

If its been years recovery or rescue is a waste of time, yours and the customers. Pull it out send it for repair or find a replacement Flash. I am sure several of us have them sitting on the shelves from recent upgrades to CIX 40's and 100's that we would like to get moved. Some of them have been upgraded to 44 hours of storage.
You may want to take this as a chance to migrate them into a CIX40. All the phones will work,the voicemail is a inskin card and they would be IP ready.

If its just full then its a 5 minute fix, I wouldnt consider that to be a waste of time and I dare say that if it is as simple as that then the customer will probably be happy, in the current economic climate customers will generally go for a cheaper pbx and if its not a Toshiba and you dont supply it and look after it then its lost income , however if you can keep it going and their paying you for that then thats money in your companies pocket not in others .
