Hello all, Been reading through here since we're planning an upgrade from our DK280 to the CTX100 (through our toshiba dealer of course)...or is it the CIX100? Toshiba's site only refers to it as the CIX, yet here all I see is CTX. Are they different systems?
Thanks

The only difference between the CTX100 and the CIX100 is the level of software installed. I think the CIX software starts at version 3.0, and the CTX is version 2.0.

Chad, expect to get a brand new CIX as Toshiba has moved away from the CTX name.

Yep, Starting with SW Ver 3.0, they started calling all the systems CIX. The CTX-28 is the only one still called CTX. All new ones ship with ver 4.1 or higher. The highest CTX version is 2.22.
Looks like they want to be known for there IP phones also. Most people still call them CTX.

And now they are up to 4.1 or whatever that will use cards such as RCOU/RCOS with built in Caller ID, no need for a separate slot for Caller ID cards.

Finally. Plus they have Analog cards with caller ID and 16 station analog cards.
Starting with ver 4.0, they use a different processor (except CIX-200), with Secure Digital for backup instead of the larger Smart Media.

CIX will have Alarm notification, Network SMDR, Traffic measurement, MyPhone Manager... and other stuff I can't remember.

hrm was just noticing something in the CIX specs on toshiba's site, says the 3000 series phones are compatible...but our dealer told us that we could keep our 2000 series phones from our DK280, true or not?

Yes, but... The BSTU cards have a switch on them to be 2000 series or 3000 series so you could keep your phones for the CIX. You could have a mix of 2000 and 3000 phones working on a PSTU2 in the 424, etc.
On the CIX all the phones on a card have to be 2000 series or 3000 series, you can't mix and match on the card, I am pretty sure, not rock solid bet your life that hasn't changed sure. Still, you can use any digital phone but NO electronic phone.
