We recently had our vm eis32 card replace and our processor in our ctx 670.
Since then our softkeys in voice mail do not work.
toshiba wanted a restart of the system and i did that about a week ago and still not working. Any ideas? should i try to reboot the voice mail as well?

First things first...what software level are you, there was an issue with some previous versions. Second, check your intergration setup and dial each port to be certain that none of them give you softkey. When you reset the system it reset the Ies32 as well, but you might try to shutdown the Ies32 and then power down the CTX. As soon as both are back up try the second one again. My bet is one of two things ...setup or needing a software upgrade.

Double check your iES settings. It's probably that you don't have the correct IP address specified for the CTX under Telephone System Configuration.

I would check the programming on the IES32 exactly what phonemeister said, If you had your vmail replaced it is probably a configuration problem, and the voicemail does not know where to find the phone system on the network. Check you network cables as well. check the ip address of the vmail.

Software Version of the processor? it is the highest that we could go before having to switch to using emanager.
We did a backup from the old vm card and restored the database , messages and presentiance folders and the reg key as well. shouldnt that have restored all settings and configurations?
I can check the IP address and make sure they match what they should be and post back.

Well I checked in the stratagy ES admin and only place that i could find an ip address is under configuration, telephone system integration, integration codes, at the bottom has the ip address and it is correct. from what the toshiba tech has told me we do not have the softkey function running over the network. It is setup on the port that uses and analog line between the voice mail and the processor. we have checked the cable and seems to be good.

You did the restore correctly. Now, gracefully shut down the iES and then power down the CTX. Wait 5 seconds and power the CTX back up. The iES will boot back up on its own. It could take up to 10 minutes for the iES to boot up all the way. Then test it.

the system and voice mail were powered up for the first time together, only ctx has been restarted since then. Should we do that again? If so i beleive we will be having a generator test this friday so i would be shuting down the voice mail and CTX just before it any way.

the only way to get softkeys working is through IP. It will not work with SMDI intergration. The vmail in system intergration has to have the IP address of the phone system. Under I/O in CTX programming the phone system has to have the IP of the vmail system. Under voicemail port data it must say softkeys YES. Just hook both ethernet ports into your network switch... It should work And unplug the silver satin cord going to the BSIS from com 1 on the voicemail you don't need it.

if you mean that under i/o device then lan device, the only item programed in there is our attandent console under 3.
there is a place for 1 but nothing is programed there. Is this where you mean? if so what would be the settings for it?
under system voice mail data softkeys are turned on.
